Upcoming Changes from NJ State and the Federal Government

Fliers for your NJFC/Medicaid Patients seeking a Managed Care Plan

As you know, all NJ FamilyCare/Medicaid beneficiaries must now enroll with a managed care plan. To help our participating providers have that conversation with their patients, as well as remind these patients that open enrollment for managed care plans begins October 1 (September 15 for certain waiver programs and for those who are dually eligibile for Medicaid and Medicare), we're making the following two fliers available on our provider website:

Medical Day Care Services Now Co-Pay Free

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie recently signed the state’s 2012 Fiscal Year
budget, a budget that included important changes to NJ FamilyCare/Medicaid benefits.

As we mentioned in our June 1 letter to you, this budget makes enrollment in an HMO mandatory for all beneficiaries, and the administration of several services, including pharmacy, has been turned over to managed care plans like Healthfirst NJ. We also received news that, as of July 1, 2011, Medical Day Care Services will no longer require a co-payment; Medical Day Care providers should not collect any such payment from beneficiaries.

New Guidelines for Outpatient PT/OT/Speech Therapy Effective July 1 2011

New Authorization requirements affecting outpatient Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy take effect July 1.
