NJ FamilyCare Renewal Information
If your family is enrolled in NJ FamilyCare, it is important that you renew your health insurance coverage each year so that it continues without interruption.
How do I know it’s time to renew my family's NJ FamilyCare health insurance?
Before your family's coverage ends, NJ FamilyCare will send you a renewal packet. You must renew your NJ FamilyCare insurance on or before the renewal date (at least 30 days before your last day of coverage).
If you do not receive a renewal packet and it is close to a year since you signed up for NJ FamilyCare or last renewed your benefits, please Contact Us.
Who should I call if I need help renewing my family's NJ FamilyCare insurance?
It's easy to renew your NJ FamilyCare health insurance – and allow your family to keep the coverage they need. We can help you over the phone, or you can ask for a Healthfirst NJ representative to come to your home and help you with the renewal form. Just call us Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at:

Will I need other documents to renew my family's insurance?
Yes. By law, you will need proof of income, such as recent pay stubs or a copy of your most recent NJ tax forms.
Will my family's NJ FamilyCare coverage change after renewal?
If there have been changes in your family size or monthly income, some benefits or costs may change. If you have questions, please Contact Us or call the NJ FamilyCare State Health Benefits Coordinator (HBC) directly at 1-800-701-0710.
If I move or change my phone number, what should I do to keep my health insurance?
If you change your address or phone number, please call Healthfirst NJ Member Services immediately. It is also very important for you to call the NJ State Health Benefits Coordinator (HBC) toll-free at 1-800-701-0710 to notify them of any address or phone changes.
Don’t lose your health insurance! Make sure you know what you need to do to keep your family insured.
For some Healthfirst NJ plans, you will need to make a monthly payment (or “premium”) to stay insured. It’s important to make all payments on time. To make a payment, please contact the the NJ State Health Benefits Coordinator (HBC) at 1-800-701-0710. You can also make payments by contacting your County Welfare Agency.
