NJ FamilyCare - Plan Summary
What is NJ FamilyCare?
Your family deserves quality health care. Get it with NJ FamilyCare.
NJ FamilyCare is a Federal-and-State-funded health insurance program to help children 18 years old or younger get the free or low-cost health coverage they need. Certain low-income adults, such as parents or guardians may also qualify. This health insurance program gives your family coverage for:
- Regular checkups and doctor visits
- Hospital visits
- Lab tests and x-rays
- Prescription medicines
- Mental health/Substance Abuse services (Covered for DDD members, all others are covered under Fee For Service)
- Dental care (for all children and some adults)
With Healthfirst’s NJ FamilyCare program, you will have little to no “co-pay” (extra payment) when someone in your family sees a doctor or needs medicine.
Don’t lose your health insurance! Make sure you know what you need to do to keep your family insured.
For some Healthfirst NJ plans, you will need to make a monthly payment (or “premium”) to stay insured. It’s important to make all payments on time. To make a payment, please contact the NJ State Health Benefits Coordinator (HBC) at 1-800-701-0710. You can also make payments by contacting your County Welfare Agency.
