Healthfirst NJ FamilyCare Grievances and Appeals

If you have a problem, talk with your Primary Care Provider (PCP) or call or write Member Services. Most problems can be solved right away. If you have a problem or dispute with your care or services you can file a complaint.

To file a complaint by phone, call Member Services at 1-888-GO4-HFNJ (1-888-464-4365), Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. TTY users call 1-800-852-7897. If you call us after hours, leave a message with our answering service. We will call you back the next working day. If we need more information to make a decision, we will tell you. You can write us with your complaint or call the Member Services number and request a complaint form. It should be mailed to:

You can also fax the complaint to 1-866-505-7041.

If we don’t solve the problem right away over the phone or within 5 days after we get your complaint, it will become a grievance. You will receive a written response to your grievance within 30 days. When a delay could risk your health, Healthfirst NJ will call you and let you know our decision within 48 hours of when we receive all the information we need to answer your complaint.
