How do I apply for health insurance for my family?
Your loved ones deserve to have the health care they need. And we’re here to make it easy for you. You can choose from 2 programs:
- NJ FamilyCare: For children 18 years old or younger, as well as certain low-income adults.
- Medicare: For adults age 65 and over, or people with qualifying disabilities.

Your children can get NJ FamilyCare coverage if your family meets certain size and monthly income levels. Some low-income adults may also be able to get the plan. If you qualify, health coverage from NJ FamilyCare is Free or low-cost, based on your income. |
Seniors and people with disabilities deserve special attention. Healthfirst NJ offers the Healthfirst NJ Maximum Plan (HMO SNP), for adults age 65 or older, or people with qualifying disabilities, who are eligible for both Medicare and full Medicaid coverage through NJ State Medicaid (“dual eligible”). |
